How long does it take to build a home?
A typical new home from Rodrock Homes takes five to six months to build from the ground up. If you prefer to buy a home already under construction, we offer opportunities to begin customizing your home at any stage of the build, even as little as 45 to 60 days prior to closing.
What type of foundations do you use?
We build our homes with the highest quality materials and pay close attention to the details. Your home’s foundation is no exception. Our foundations are steel reinforced poured concrete, with concrete reinforced footings. This ensures your home’s foundation will be strong and stable.
What type of windows do you use?
The types of windows we use vary from community to community, and include Pella Encompass Vinyl, Geld Wen, and Alenco Vinyl. We always use high-quality, low-emittance (low-E) windows to ensure superior energy efficiency.
What about the trees on our home site?
When there are existing trees on your home site, we will perform what is called a “tree stake.” Our land surveyor will mark the corners of the new home. Then you will walk the home site with your Project Manager and decide which trees you would like to remain on the property.
Who will take care of my warranty work?
Each of our custom homes comes with a 1-year New Home Warranty. If any issues arise within the first 90 days, your Rodrock Homes project manager will be there to take care of it, and after 90 days our warranty facilitator will be there to provide outstanding service. Contact a New Home Specialist for more information.
Is it okay to visit my home while it’s under construction?
We welcome our home buyers to visit their new home while it is under construction, however, since there a potential dangers at different times throughout the construction process, we do require a representative from our Rodrock Homes team to be with you during your visit. Your safety during these visits is our number one concern. If you’d like to visit your home during construction, please contact a New Home Specialist for more information.
When should I schedule my movers? When can I start moving my possessions into my new home?
Soon after closing, we will receive confirmation from the Title company or Bank that recording of ownership transfer has occurred. Once this confirmation is received, you will take possession of your new home and can begin moving items into the home. Your New Home Specialist and Project Manager will be able to help you schedule your movers according to your anticipated closing date and date of transfer.
Will I be able to customize my home?
We want you to move into a home you love and we are passionate about offering each of our buyers the opportunity to customize whenever possible with our exclusive Design Freedom, whether you’re building from the ground up or buying a showcase home. Even when closing on a home within 30 days, we offer the opportunity to choose custom finishes. Right from the start you’ll be involved in the building process and have the ability to make your home unique and just right for you and your family. Contact a New Home Specialist for more information.
